Duetronix 28USB

ProtoPro 2803The Starter-28 development system has been designed for developer and hobbyist intending to leverage the features available in the 28 Pin USB Device family available from Microchip.

The system is compact and is efficiently laid out in a 10 cm x 8 cm PCB; includes onboard PSU, Communications interface, and additional footprints for devices extending the system’s flexibility.

Tracked power and ground connections enable quick, simple integration and usage. A standard RS232 communications interface is available with DB9 footprint. Standard ICSP interface enables the 16fxxx device to be reprogrammed in circuit. The Starter 28 is available as a bare PCB or fully assembled.

Manual

USB:

The board is based on the Duetronix 28 development board, and is supplied fully built and tested together with a 18F2550 device programmed with a communications port application. The LED’s are wired to show USB status and the board can be plugged in and will install automatically as a COM port under Windows 2000, XP and Vista.

Microprocessor:

  • Supplied with pre-programmed 18F2550 device.
  • Compatible with all MicroChip PIC 28 pin DIP packaged microprocessors.
  • Oscillator Options:
    • Supplied with 20MHz crystal oscillator.
  • Power Supply Options:
    • Supplied configured for operation from the USB power supply.
    • Footprints provided for either TO-92 or TO-220 voltage regulators.
    • Footprint provided for DC power receptacle.
    • Power-on LED.
  • User I/O Options:
    • 3 push buttons. (2 wired for use with Microchip USB boot loader application)
    • 3 LEDs. (2 wired for USB status)
    • RS232 driver chip and DB9F connector for serial communications included.
