Serial + Programmer

The FED serial+ programmer operates on the standard Serial Port of a PC. The programmer application runs under Windows ’95, ’98, 2000, XP, NT and Vista. Programmers are supplied with instructions and programmer application on 3.5" disk.

This unit runs up to 3 times faster than our previous serial programmer, includes a 6 pin In Circuit Programming Connector and also supports FED’s In Circuit Debugging.

This programmer programs PICmicro® MCU devices in a single 40 pin multi-width ZIF socket. Will program among others, PIC16C5xx, PIC16C6X, PIC16F7xxx, PIC16C7xxx, PIC16C8xxx, PIC16F6xxx, PIC16F8x, PIC12Cxxx, PIC12CE67X, PIC 12Fxxx, PIC16F8xxx, PIC14000, PIC18Cxxx, PIC18Fxxx and is upgradeable to newer devices. This programmer also offers In-Circuit programming on  a dedicated connector.. The  Power supply should be 18-28Vdc, you can use 9V batteries, or a cheap unregulated 12V battery eliminator works very well.

The programmer includes a 6 pin In Circuit Serial Programming (ICSP) connector which is compatible with the pin out of the Microchip ICD connector, and is also compatible with our range of development boards. The use of the ICSP connector is selected from the application running on the PC.

The ICSP connector also has a single pin connection for In Circuit Debugging using FED’s protocols running at 57600bps.
